She is a Professor of Indigenous Ethnology at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo (MAE‑USP). She serves as Coordinator of the Anthropology area at the Antônio Kanajó Center for Documentation of Indigenous Languages and Cultures and is a Researcher at the Center for Amerindian Studies (CEstA). She has held appointments as a researcher and visiting professor at the Musée du quai Branly, Princeton University, and the University of Paris Nanterre. Since 2010, she has conducted field research in the Amazon and has coordinated research projects on documentation and collections (UNESCO/MNPI, USP‑Cofecub, EMKP/The British Museum).
Her research addresses the following themes: Indigenous ethnology; Indigenous regimes of historicity and longue durée Indigenous history; anthropology of art and museums; anthropological documentation; and the physical and digital circulation of collections.
