How does your research respond to the urgencies of the Anthropocene?

🌍 LAST DAYS: How does your research respond to the urgencies of the Anthropocene?

Registrations for abstracts for GT 8 - "Aesthetics of the End of the World: art, fables and narratives in the Anthropocene as a research device in Southern Anthropologies" are open until June 20.

If your research crosses the paths of Visual Anthropology, Arts, Literature, Performance, or proposes fabulations and counter-narratives critical of contemporary collapses from the Global South, GT 8 is your space for dialogue.

Our working group proposes an interdisciplinary space for debate that takes art and narratives not only as objects of study, but as epistemological methods and crucial research devices in the face of the planetary transformations of the Anthropocene, under South-South geopolitical coordinates. We invite graduate students and researchers from Social Sciences, Anthropology and Arts to submit their communication proposals.

👥 Coordination: Priscila Silva Queiroz Cevada (USP) and Tiara Zampedri (UBA) 🎙️ Moderation: Fabio Luiz Silva de Oliveira (USP)

Modality: Face-to-face (UNILA Headquarters - Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil): November 04 to 06, 2026.
