AntropoCena presents: Muxa - The Mark

Start
Local
LISA Auditorium. Rua do Anfiteatro, 181, Favo 10, USP.

Film Screening and Discussion with the Filmmakers

Following the screening, Damë Bëtxun Matis, Chawa Matis, and Lionel Rossini, the film’s directors, will participate in a discussion moderated by Nadja Marin, an anthropologist, documentary filmmaker, and Indigenous studies scholar.

Short Synopsis:
There are twenty-four hours left before Damë Bëtxun, a Matis filmmaker, receives the mark on his face that every Matis carries forever. During this wait, caught between fear and pride, it is his own voice that guides the viewer until the moment when the palm thorns make him—like his father before him—definitively Matis.

AntropoCena is an initiative of LISA and aims to bring audiovisual productions created by USP researchers to the public through screenings and discussions.
